A Little Ray of Sunshine

Sunlight on solar panels
keeps our satellites in touch
but when they speak of weather
they’re talking double Dutch.

You’ve got to have some sympathy
For an astronomer with flare.
“I’ve got the solar wind,” he says
“And not just way out there.”

Are sun spots solar acne
in the suns magnetosphere?
Does the sun hold up a mirror
and say “Oh dear, oh dear”?

The stars are twinkling in the sky,
The moon is round and bright
A great big rocky mirror
spreading sunshine in the night.

A little solar panel
powers my fairy lights,
so another bit of sunshine
can brighten up my night.

Yet another bit of sunshine
is in your bottled juice,
Captured by the green leaves
and sent to luscious fruit.

“Awful tragedy! Terrible disaster”
was what the paper seller cried.
His little bit of sunshine
came when someone died!

A little bit of sunshine
is a seaside town’s delight -
please God, put money in the meter
and keep it shining bright!

Sun of righteousness, arise!
Tear our nights apart;
for those whose eyes are open,
You shine within our hearts
